About Hadeel, its suppliers, and groups with related aims

Hadeel                     Our suppliers                    Other groups

Hadeel is a Fair Trade shop which aims to provide a sustainable source of income for craftspeople working in community based groups in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon.  We are a member of the British Association for Fair Trade Shops and supply other FT shops and individual fair traders as well as Palestine Solidarity groups.

"A group of pupils from Queensferry High School, interested in Fair Trade, visited Hadeel shop on 29 May 2008.  Ross Campbell, assistant manager, happily served them."

Palestinian handcrafts have always been living examples of ethnic art deeply rooted in Palestinian folklore; they have now become a symbol of the people and their striving for a normal way of life with a national identity, in the face of the Israeli occupation of their land. Making beautiful crafts also helps people psychologically to survive during long hours and days when they are not permitted to leave their homes because of Israeli-imposed curfews.
